Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Donnie Darko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grandmaster Red (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Grandmaster Red enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Donnie Darko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Grandmaster Red!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darko looks to clinch
and Red cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Darko tries to clinch there but Red circles away.
Darko tries to clinch up.
Red scores with a punch to the head.
Darko tries to close the distance and clinch up but Red swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Red scores with a jab. Darko acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Darko fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Red avoids it really well and circles away.
Red swats away the attempt to clinch by Darko.
Red thuds his right hand into Darko's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Darko is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Red lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Darko moves in looking to clinch but Red pushes him off.
Red connects with a looping right hand.

Darko gets the takedown into side control.
Red tries to bench press Darko off him but Darko keeps the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Red can do anything to dispel that myth.

Darko thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Darko throws a strike aimed at the side of Red's head but Red avoids it well.
Red prevents Darko from improving position.
Darko in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Darko works to advance to full mount. Red defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Red wants to hold on but Darko pushes him away.
Red really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Darko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Red wants to get back to his feet.
Red tries to hold on but Darko pushes him away.
Red takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Red tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Darko lands a big shot there that rocks Red but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Darko sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Darko throws some wild stikes that Red manages to avoid easily.

Poor strikes thrown by Darko there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Darko has hold of Red's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Red manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Red is looking to get to half guard.

Darko wants to finish this one by submission but Red is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Darko.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Darko breaks from Red's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Darko wants to control the pace but Red is squirming around nicely.
Red tries to hold on but Darko postures up.

Red is working to get back to half guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Red is bucking up trying to escape but Darko cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Darko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
You get the feeling that Red really doesn't like being in this position too much.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Red stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Red wants it to stay on the feet.
Donnie Darko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Red works his foot free and advances to mount.

Red looking to ground and pound but Darko is blocking nicely.

Donnie Darko overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Red tries to control but Darko wriggling away.
Darko manages to regain half guard. Good work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Donnie Darko will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Red is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Red is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Darko is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Red wants to control from the top but Darko keeps moving.
Darko manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Red manages to get himself to full guard.
Grandmaster Red has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Darko is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Red has escaped the position, nice work there.
Donnie Darko is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Red is not content to let Darko control the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Darko, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Donnie Darko decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
