The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Charles tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kelly paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Charles throws a hook to the side of Kelly's head but Kelly sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kelly is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Kelly shoots in looking for a takedown but Charles manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kelly's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jean Charles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Connor Kelly.

Kelly does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Charles lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kelly has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kelly and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Kelly moves forwards but Charles connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Charles tries to close the distance and clinch but Kelly swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Charles throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kelly stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jean Charles.
