Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between David Drexter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takeshi Yamazaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takeshi Yamazaki is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takeshi Yamazaki!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Taro Takaoka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drexter avoids the head kick by Yamazaki.
Drexter stuffs the takedown.
Yamazaki slaps away a takedown attempt from Drexter, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Drexter defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Yamazaki.
Drexter shoots for a double leg takedown but Yamazaki sprawls well. He's pushed Drexter's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Drexter feints and as Yamazaki raises his hands in defense, Drexter changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Drexter could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Drexter might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Yamazaki wriggles free and stands up.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Yamazaki is defended easily by Drexter.
David Drexter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takeshi Yamazaki.
Drexter shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Drexter closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Yamazaki to the mat! Yamazaki manages to get full guard.

Drexter is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Yamazaki is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Drexter has his hands clasped together but Yamazaki extends an breaks Drexter's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Yamazaki.
