Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ray Quik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edilson Rubiera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rubiera has chosen ratamahatta as his entrance music. Ray Quik is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rubiera tries a head kick but it misses.
Quik lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Quik looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rubiera is fending him off so far but Quik persists. Nope, Rubiera circles away and we're back to standing.
Nice jab there from Quik.
Rubiera throws a low kick but Quik avoids it.
Quik moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Rubiera takes the fight into the clinch.
Quik drops down looking for an ankle pick but Rubiera pulls his leg out and moves away.
Quik throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Quik looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Quik has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rubiera finds it's way round the side to connect with Quik's head.
Quik throws a head kick that Rubiera semi-blocks.

It looks like Edilson Rubiera has been cut.

Quik clinches with his opponent.

Rubiera's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Quik throws a push kick but Rubiera slaps the foot to one side.

Rubiera stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Quik swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rubiera pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Quik is keeping the position for now.
Rubiera is pushing down on Quik's leg trying to pass to half guard. Quik is fighting to maintain full guard but Rubiera has managed to sneak the leg through.
Rubiera is just content to waste time from the top position. Quik takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Rubiera is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Quik tries to roll over but Rubiera keeps him under control.
Quik makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Quik.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's time! Quik's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Quik tries to clinch up.
Quik misses with a head kick.
Rubiera throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rubiera tries a low kick but Quik avoids it.
Rubiera looks to land a combination but Quik avoids it well.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Quik.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Rubiera works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Rubiera postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Quik is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rubiera, into his guard.
Quik slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Rubiera manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rubiera can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Quik is looking to escape.
Rubiera misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Quik wants to hold on but Rubiera pushes him away.
Quik is bucking up trying to escape but Rubiera cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rubiera loads up with a big shot that hurts Quik! He's pulled Rubiera in close but Rubiera has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Quik survive? More strikes from Rubiera and Quik is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
