PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dallas Clifford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Regal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Clifford might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Symphony #9. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Regal fails in his attempt to clinch.
Clifford avoids the head kick by Regal.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Regal wants to clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Clifford jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Regal walks away with a smile on his face. Clifford gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Regal tries to clinch but Clifford is having none of it.
Clifford shoots for a double leg takedown but Regal sprawls well. He's pushed Clifford's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Regal pushes Clifford up against the cage in a clinch.
Clifford wants to get back to striking at distance but Regal won't allow it.
Clifford takes a knee right on the jaw!
Regal putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Clifford in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Regal lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

It looks like Dallas Clifford has been cut.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Regal obliges.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Clifford takes a knee to the side of the body.
Clifford is breathing heavily.
Clifford tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Regal smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dallas Clifford. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Clifford shoots in and drives through. Regal sprawls well.

Regal closes the distance and clinches.
Regal lands an elbow just above Clifford 's eye.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Clifford tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Regal just stands there and leans against the cage.
Clifford tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Regal smiles and moves away.

Regal rushes Clifford and presses him up against the cage.
Regal working Clifford over with knees to the body.
Clifford takes a knee right on the jaw!
Clifford takes an elbow to the temple.
Regal lands a damaging elbow.

Clifford is rocked!
Regal connects with a nasty looking knee right to Clifford's face.
Oh Clifford is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Regal lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Regal has Clifford pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Clifford is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Regal - that's hurt Clifford badly! Oh, another knee lands and Clifford is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Clifford doesn't seem to be complaining.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Jack Regal!
