Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Laineen Kasperi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gilles De Rais (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laineen Kasperi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Laineen Kasperi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gilles De Rais!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kasperi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
De Rais slips under a jab from Kasperi.
De Rais tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kasperi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten De Rais somewhat.
Kasperi lands the left hand.
Laineen Kasperi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kasperi fails to land the takedown.
No luck for De Rais with that takedown attempt.
Kasperi shoots for a double leg takedown but De Rais sprawls well. He's pushed Kasperi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Laineen Kasperi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kasperi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? De Rais is fending him off so far but Kasperi persists. Nope, De Rais circles away and we're back to standing.
Kasperi throws a lazy right hand but De Rais sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Kasperi scores with a hook to the body. De Rais takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
De Rais misses with a takedown attempt - Kasperi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
De Rais shoots in for a takedown but Kasperi shows good takedown defense.
De Rais looks gassed!

Kasperi throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
De Rais slips under a jab.
A swing and a miss from Kasperi.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kasperi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kasperi tries to close the distance and clinch but De Rais swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
De Rais shoots in for a double leg but Kasperi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Kasperi has De Rais up against the cage in a clinch.

Kasperi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
De Rais uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kasperi.
De Rais shoots in and drives through. Kasperi sprawls well.
Kasperi throws a jab when De Rais was well out of range.
Kasperi swings widly with a right hand
and De Rais counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Kasperi misses with a looping right.

Kasperi darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Kasperi stuffs the takedown.
Kasperi looks to land a combination. De Rais sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kasperi throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Kasperi throws a hook to the side of De Rais's head but De Rais sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
De Rais is trying desperately to land a takedown but Kasperi is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for De Rais.
De Rais displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kasperi throws out the jab.
Kasperi lands a nice looking body shot.
Kasperi throws a jab but it's blocked by De Rais.
Kasperi misses the body punch
and De Rais counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Kasperi closes the distance and pushes De Rais back into the cage.
De Rais tries to pull guard but Kasperi holds him up against the cage and eventually De Rais drops back down to his feet.

Kasperi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
De Rais slips a straight right by Kasperi.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

De Rais has managed to clinch.
Kasperi is really struggling to find his range with his punches. De Rais's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Kasperi swings wildly with an uppercut but De Rais uses good head movement to avoid it.

Kasperi drags the fight down to the ground.
De Rais would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kasperi is looking for a triangle but De Rais pushes his legs off easily.
Kasperi lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for De Rais!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kasperi wants to control the pace but De Rais is squirming around nicely.
De Rais really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kasperi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kasperi has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of De Rais's face.

De Rais is looking to get to half guard.
Kasperi throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kasperi thowing shots but they're missing.
De Rais wants to hold on but Kasperi pushes him away.
Kasperi trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Kasperi is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. De Rais can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Kasperi goes for an armbar but he's not got it… De Rais turns into him and now he's in Kasperi's guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
De Rais stopping the sweep attempt from Kasperi.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Laineen Kasperi dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kasperi loads up on a big right hand but De Rais slips the punch.
A looping hook to the body misses from De Rais. Kasperi does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kasperi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Laineen Kasperi is winning the standup battle so far.
Kasperi throws a looping overhand right but De Rais ducks down to avoid it.
Kasperi moves in looking to clinch but De Rais pushes him off.
De Rais tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Kasperi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kasperi scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
De Rais shoots in but no luck this time.
Nice takedown defense from De Rais. No joy for Kasperi on that attempt.
Kasperi swats away the attempt to clinch by De Rais.
Kasperi catches De Rais with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Gilles De Rais is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
De Rais is breathing heavily.
De Rais moves in looking to clinch but Kasperi pushes him off.

De Rais tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kasperi moves in looking to clinch but De Rais pushes him off.
De Rais ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Kasperi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but De Rais moves away.

De Rais dives in and grabs Kasperi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kasperi pushes down on De Rais's head and hops out.
Kasperi wants to clinch up but De Rais keeps it at a distance.
De Rais shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kasperi pinned against the cage. Kasperi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Laineen Kasperi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gilles De Rais.
Kasperi just misses with a punch to the body.

Kasperi drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
De Rais keeping moving, preventing Kasperi from controlling successfully.

Kasperi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Kasperi is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! De Rais is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! De Rais has escaped and now he's on top!
This has been an exciting period of action!
De Rais trying to control the position from guard on top but Kasperi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kasperi has his hands on De Rais's head, controlling the position.
Kasperi tries to land a sweep but no joy.
De Rais wants to pass the guard but Kasperi is keeping the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

De Rais gets to his feet. Kasperi looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Kasperi throws a body punch but De Rais moves out of range.
Kasperi connects with the punch.
Kasperi tries to close the distance and clinch up but De Rais swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kasperi throws a hook but De Rais avoids it easily.
Kasperi lands with a right hand.
De Rais steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kasperi.
Kasperi throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck De Rais on the side of the head.
Kasperi lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.


De Rais is rocked!
De Rais looks up at the clock. Bad move! Kasperi lands a right hand from hell, dropping De Rais. Kasperi pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Laineen Kasperi!
As Laineen Kasperi got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: I am The Fifth King!'.
