Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Richard Meyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Durden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Durden has chosen This is your life as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Richard Meyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tyler Durden!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, John Mangel and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durden lands with an uppercut that bounces Meyer off the cage and back into range.
Meyer jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Meyer drops his hands momentarily and Durden takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Meyer fails to land the takedown.
Durden fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Meyer looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Meyer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Durden swivels and escapes.

Meyer gets tackled into the cage by Durden. Durden maintains the clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Durden.
A right handed body shot lands from Durden.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Meyer tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Durden smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Richard Meyer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Durden works over Meyer's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Richard Meyer has been cut.

Meyer takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Durden lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Meyer at a distance.

Durden takes the fight into the clinch.

Durden presses Meyer against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Meyer closes this distance looking for a takedown but Durden circles away.
Durden throws a shot to the body.

Durden connects with a nice looking jab.
Durden throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Meyer is breathing heavily.
Durden ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Meyer shoots in looking for a takedown but Durden manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Meyer's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Meyer ducks right into an uppercut from Durden.
Meyer walks into a left hand.
Meyer takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Durden scores with a decent looking hook.
Durden swats away the attempt to clinch by Meyer.

Durden has Meyer up against the cage in a clinch.
Durden lands a hook to the side of the head.
Durden working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Meyer jumps guard but Durden stands there with Meyer around his waist. Meyer gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Tyler Durden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Durden lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Meyer at a distance.

Durden misses with a few strikes there.
Durden comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Meyer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Durden sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Meyer somewhat.
Durden stalks Meyer and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Meyer's face. Meyer staggers backwards, shaken.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Durden lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Durden jabs Meyer to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Durden lands a right hook to the body.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Durden moves into the clinch.
Durden lands a hook to the side of the head.

Durden pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Durden misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Meyer takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Durden lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Meyer backs up against the cage.
Durden scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Durden stalks Meyer and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Meyer's face. Meyer staggers backwards, shaken.

Durden has managed to clinch.

Durden breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Durden lands with a hook. Meyer tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Durden is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Meyer rather than just go for the knockout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Durden lands a glancing blow to the side of Meyer's head.
Durden scores with a sloppy right hand. Meyer should have avoided that one.

Durden pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Meyer back to the cage. Durden follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


Meyer is rocked!
Durden moves out of range of the leg kick from Meyer.
Oh Meyer is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Durden lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Meyer seems to have got his legs back now.
Meyer thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Meyer trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Meyer sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Meyer is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Durden is surviving well by controlling Meyer's body position as best he can.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Meyer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Durden is looking to escape.
Durden is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Meyer can't control as he wanted to and Durden manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
Well, if Meyer is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Durden can do anything to dispel that myth.

Meyer works his way to his opponent's back.
Will Meyer go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's time! Meyer's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!

Meyer takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Tyler Durden seems to be getting the better of the standup.
The fight stays on the outside here - Meyer looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Durden will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Meyer shoots in for a double leg but Durden sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Durden lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Durden feints a jab promting Meyer to slip. Durden then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Meyer slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Durden blocks a head kick by Meyer.

Durden fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Meyer takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Durden has managed to clinch.
Meyer tries for a takedown. No joy.
Durden throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Durden lands a shot to the body.
Durden has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Durden works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
