PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Alf Alfa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alfa kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Jiu Jitsu - Smoke Serpent. Silver has chosen Snow (Hey Oh) as his entrance music. Jean Silver is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alfa tries to score with a low kick but Silver moves his leg out of the way.

Silver changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Alfa looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Alfa is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Silver off and has taken his back!

Silver is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Alfa off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Alfa connects with a big shot to the side of Silver's head.

Alfa is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Silver is defending well though. Alfa let's go of the attempt for now.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Silver finds himself mounted whilst avoiding strikes.

Alfa lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Silver is squirming around, avoiding Alfa's attempts to control the action.

Alfa swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Silver is now in Alfa's guard. A big mistake from Alfa there, giving up the dominant position!
Alfa bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Silver's guard.
Alfa not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Alfa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silver swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Silver can't keep his opponent in guard - Alfa advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Alfa is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Silver defends it well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Alfa wants to work for an arm triangle but Silver is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Silver throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Alfa stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Alfa closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Silver to the mat! Silver manages to get full guard.

Alfa drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Silver manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Alfa has Silver in his guard.
Silver must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Alfa wants to sweep here but Silver controlling him for the moment.

Alfa has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Silver is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Alfa.

Silver is nestled in close to Alfa, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Alfa has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Silver is working away from the top position though.
