PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kick Boxer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bunner Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kick Boxer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bunner Jr!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jr looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Boxer wants to get back to his feet but Jr passes into half guard.

Jr is trying to work for a kimura but Boxer is defending well.
Boxer on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Jr slows the pace down in half guard.
Boxer could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jr thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Boxer's head.
Jr not doing much here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Jr swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Boxer doesn't manage to clinch there - Jr circles away.
Boxer wants to clinch

and Jr counters with a single leg into guard. Boxer didn't expect that.
Boxer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jr on the ground.
Jr seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Jr throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bunner Jr was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Jr scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Jr stands up and we're back to a striking position.
A head kick misses from Jr.

Jr gets a clinch.
Boxer wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Boxer is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Jr gets control of Boxer's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jr will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Boxer being controlled here momentarily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jr manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Boxer manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jr passes into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jr escapes and gets back to his feet.
Boxer is breathing heavily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jr punishes Boxer's body with a nice straight punch.
Jr tried to score with a low kick but Boxer checks it.
Boxer blocks a head kick by Jr.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bunner Jr dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Jr shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Boxer napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Jr is chipping away with strikes.
Jr advances nicely into full mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jr is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Boxer is surviving well by controlling Jr's body position as best he can.
Jr tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jr lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jr sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Jr is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Boxer is surviving well by controlling Jr's body position as best he can.
Jr lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jr content just to control the position here.
Boxer has given up his back. Will we see Jr going for some submissions?
Jr really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Boxer.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jr's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jr has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Boxer! Can he survive? No! He's out! Jr gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Bunner Jr!
