The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
bishop throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Nishimura doesn't manage to clinch there - bishop circles away.
bishop keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Nice combo by bishop! Oh, that's hurt him - Nishimura falls to the canvas and bishop follows him into side control.

Nishimura is rocked!

bishop tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no bishop has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Oh Nishimura is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

bishop wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nishimura, who protects the arm well.
Nishimura might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

bishop decides to stand up, so the ref orders Nishimura to his feet.

Nishimura shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

bishop wants to stand and escape but Nishimura is having none of it.
Nishimura tries to free his leg and advance position but bishop is retaining full guard.

Nishimura avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Nishimura drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nishimura jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

bishop would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Nishimura could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

bishop must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
bishop sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nishimura's guard.
