The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Joseph Jones and David Schapiro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones defending well as Holmes loads up on a big left hand.
Holmes looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Holmes keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Jones is looking to chop away at Holmes's legs.
Holmes throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Holmes looks to land a left hand but Jones moved out of range nicely.
Jones misses with a body shot.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Jones pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Jones closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Holmes's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Holmes is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones connects with a couple of short punches.

Holmes had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jones defends it easily.
Holmes has momentary wrist control but Jones slips an elbow through the middle.
Jones connects with a couple of short punches.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jones's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Holmes looks gassed!

Jones cracks Holmes with a solid left hand.
Jones prevents Holmes from getting back to his feet.
Jones wants to stand but Holmes has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Jones avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Holmes looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Jones keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Holmes's head.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Holmes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Jones wants to pass the guard but Holmes is keeping the position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jones connects with a couple of short punches.

Jones content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Jones is working Holmes over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Jones drops back looking for a leg! Holmes is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Holmes manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into Holmes's guard.
Jones wants to control from the top but Holmes keeps moving.
Jones scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Jones distracts Holmes with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Holmes is rocked!

Jones decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Holmes, up you get!
Holmes is still on wobbly legs! Can Jones finish him?
Jones thuds a left hand into Holmes's body.
Jones connects with a stiff jab that staggers Holmes - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
