PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenta Kobashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mohammed Clay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Kenta Kobashi has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Kenta Kobashi seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kenta Kobashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mohammed Clay!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clay just misses with a punch to the body.
Kobashi takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Mohammed Clay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Clay throws a hook to the side of Kobashi's head but Kobashi sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Clay has had enough of the clinch but Kobashi keeps him there for the moment.

Horrible takedown by Kobashi or perhaps it was just good defense by Clay which made him look bad.
Clay stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Clay lands a really nice looking cross but Kobashi seems unphased.
Clay lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Mohammed Clay is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Clay fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kenta Kobashi will probably get the nod.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kobashi in particular looking to stall.
Kobashi is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Clay!

Oooooh, big shot lands for Kobashi! Clay is hurt baaadly! Kobashi is firing away with more strikes - Clay is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
