The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uppercut looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Whitaker!
Whitaker working to try and regain half guard.
Uppercut raining down shots from the mount!
Whitaker is trying desperately to improve position.
Whitaker prevents Uppercut from taking his back.
Uppercut working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Uppercut goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Whitaker is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Whitaker looking to improve position, pressing down on Uppercut's thigh with his hand. Uppercut seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Whitaker paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Whitaker's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Uppercut picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
