Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gio Naza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alessandro Moretti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Naza's entrance music is Saliva - Ladies and Gentlemen. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Naza looks to score with a jab to the body but Moretti is just out of range.

Naza closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Naza pushes Moretti off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Naza gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Moretti wants to control from the top but Naza keeps moving.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Moretti dives in and grabs Naza's left leg, looking for a takedown. Naza pushes down on Moretti's head and hops out.

Moretti moves in looking to clinch but Naza pushes him off.
Moretti throws a low kick, looking for Naza's leg but Naza calmly moves out of range.
Naza throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Moretti's waist but Moretti gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Naza off to one side.

Naza bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Naza buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Horrible takedown by Naza or perhaps it was just good defense by Moretti which made him look bad.

Naza shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Moretti as he avoids it easily.
