Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Octavio Paixao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Ironsides (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ironsides throws a leg kick
and Paixao counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Ironsides closes the distance and clinches.
Ironsides throws an elbow that misses.
Ironsides misses with an elbow over the top.
Ironsides lands a nice elbow.
Paixao blocks an elbow strike.
Paixao avoids a wild elbow strike from Ironsides.
Paixao comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Paixao is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

It looks like Jason Ironsides has been cut.

Paixao has Ironsides pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Paixao pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Ironsides tumbling to the mat - Paixao dives into Ironsides's guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Ironsides striking off his back but it's not causing Paixao any problems.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Paixao slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Ironsides.
Ironsides works his way to full guard. Good work.

Paixao stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ironsides swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ironsides working for a triangle but Paixao defends it easily.

Paixao is sitting in close to Ironsides's body. Ironsides has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Paixao is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Paixao is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Ironsides.
