The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mercer throws a leg kick which misses McDonald's front leg but catches the back leg as McDonald tries to avoid it.
McDonald shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mercer manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Mercer controls McDonald momentarily but McDonald frees himself.
McDonald controlling from the top position.
McDonald is pushing down on Mercer's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mercer is fighting to maintain full guard but McDonald has managed to sneak the leg through.
McDonald stalling.
McDonald maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Mercer could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but McDonald has cracked it and Mercer is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by McDonald!
