PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hugh Hefner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mad Max (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hefner might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Puff The Magic Dragon. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hefner gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Hefner throws a leg kick but Max checks it.
Max throws a push kick but Hefner slaps the foot to one side.

Max closes the distance and pushes Hefner back into the cage.
Max lands a hook to the side of the head.
Hefner jumps guard but Max turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Hefner tries to pull guard but Max won't allow it.

Max lands a takedown into guard.
Hefner keeping moving, preventing Max from controlling successfully.
Max prevents Hefner from getting back to his feet.

Max thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Hefner scrambles and gets back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Max shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hefner eats them both and turns towards Max to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Max throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hefner sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hefner leaves Max with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Hugh Hefner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mad Max.
A head punch on the inside from Max fails to land.
Hefner is pressed up against the cage. Max has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hefner down to the mat. Hefner avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hefner's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Hefner has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.

Max patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
