PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mirko Filipovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raging Jobber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Filipovic might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to wild boyz. Raging Jobber has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mirko Filipovic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Raging Jobber!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jobber throws a lazy uppercut

and Filipovic counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Filipovic.
Filipovic is looking for a takedown.
Jobber prevents the takedown attempt.
Jobber is trying to break the clinch but Filipovic has him pressed against the cage.

Filipovic jumps guard and drags Jobber to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Filipovic has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Filipovic has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Filipovic had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jobber defends it easily.
Jobber tries to stand but Filipovic is controlling from the bottom.

Filipovic thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Jobber is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Filipovic is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Jobber is surviving well by controlling Filipovic's body position as best he can.

Jobber tries to reverse the position but Filipovic maintains control.

Filipovic is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jobber can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Filipovic takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Filipovic has hold of Jobber's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Jobber manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Filipovic manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Jobber on his heels. He'll look to pass Jobber's guard now, I'm sure.
Filipovic not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Jobber really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Filipovic. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Filipovic has hold of one of Jobber's legs. Jobber is fighting the takedown attempt but Filipovic gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Filipovic, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
