The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomi showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Pacquiao.
Pacquiao lets loose with a powerful body kick. Gomi will feel that in the morning.
Gomi throws a head kick that misses.
Gomi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pacquiao's waist but Pacquiao gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gomi off to one side.
Gomi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pacquiao swivels and escapes.
Pacquiao throws out a powerful jab.
Gomi is breathing heavily.
Gomi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pacquiao as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Takanori Gomi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pacquiao swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gomi throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Pacquiao counters with a stiff right hand.
Gomi swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pacquiao counters with a nice body shot.
Pacquiao lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Pacquiao looks to land a combination but Gomi avoids it well.
Oh Gomi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Pacquiao throws a combination that misses
and Gomi counters with a huge uppercut, hook combination that drops Pacquiao! The ref has seen enough - he's dived in to stop the fight! Brutal strikes by Gomi!
