Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mikey Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Bruce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes into the arena with Mike Jones blaring out of the sound system. David Bruce has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mikey Jones's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bruce gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Jones is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bruce gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Bruce wants a takedown but no success here.

Jones fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Jones creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Bruce sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Jones has hold of Bruce's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bruce manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Bruce is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Jones sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Bruce sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Bruce is looking to escape.

Bruce manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Bruce swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bruce tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range.
Bruce throws a series of strikes that have Jones backpedaling.

David Bruce is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Bruce keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Bruce closes the distance and clinches.
Jones is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Bruce is keeping busy.

Bruce throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.

Jones has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Bruce off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Jones takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
No joy there for Bruce, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jones misses with a straight left.
Bruce tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bruce paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bruce stuffs the takedown.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jones looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bruce is fending him off so far but Jones persists. Nope, Bruce circles away and we're back to standing.
Jones takes a swing at Bruce's ribcage but misses.
Bruce tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range.

A close round but David Bruce will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Bruce is pushing Jones's head away, looking to escape. Jones manages to hold on to the position though.
Bruce is looking for a sweep.

Bruce tries to buck Jones off but Jones is having none of it.
Bruce is working to avoid the ground and pound but Jones connects with a decent elbow.

Jones winds up and cracks Bruce with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bruce keeps working.

Jones is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bruce does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bruce is trying to escape back to his feet but Jones uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Mikey Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bruce is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Bruce is retaining full guard.

Jones throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Bruce lands a head kick. Jones smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Jones dodges the punch combination from Bruce.
Bruce moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Mikey Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Bruce gets a clinch.

Bruce uses the cage to get back to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bruce looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Bruce throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Jones's head.

Bruce lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Jones is looking to close the distance but Bruce sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Jones crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Jones is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
