Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Stelios Raptis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Mondello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raptis's entrance music is Deviser - Threnody. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Stelios Raptis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Anderson Mondello!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Raptis closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Mondello quickly recovers to half guard.

Raptis is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Mondello is looking to escape.

Raptis is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Raptis is looking for a kimura but Mondello is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Raptis to get the leverage.
Raptis is just content to waste time from the top position. Mondello takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Raptis throwing strikes from guard but Mondello blocks nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Raptis drops back looking for a leg! Mondello is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mondello manages to kick Raptis off! Raptis jumps back into Mondello's guard.
Raptis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mondello swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Raptis throws a strike but Mondello rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Raptis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mondello doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Raptis is tightening it up a little... Mondello has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Mondello reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Mondello taps out! Nice BJJ there by Raptis!
