PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kursch Ikenhar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dylan Mcgarry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ikenhar comes to the cage accompanied by Andromeda - Starshooter Supreme. On his way into the cage it seems that Kursch Ikenhar has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Kursch Ikenhar seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dylan Mcgarry!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ikenhar decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Mcgarry looking for submissions off his back.

Mcgarry looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Ikenhar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mcgarry on the ground.

Mcgarry looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Ikenhar is just content to waste time from the top position. Mcgarry takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Ikenhar controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ikenhar would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kursch Ikenhar wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Mcgarry tries for a takedown but Ikenhar sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Ikenhar has closed the distance and engaged Mcgarry in a clinch.

Mcgarry prevents Ikenhar from getting back to his feet.

Mcgarry postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ikenhar is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mcgarry, into his guard.
Ikenhar throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mcgarry works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Ikenhar decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mcgarry, up you get!
Mcgarry ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Mcgarry gets caught napping as Ikenhar dives in and scores a takedown. Mcgarry manages to retain guard.

Mcgarry looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mcgarry fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Mcgarry shoots for a double leg takedown but Ikenhar sprawls well. He's pushed Mcgarry's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mcgarry ducks under a wild hook from Ikenhar.

Ikenhar has taken the fight to the clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Ikenhar.

Ikenhar pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Ikenhar scores with a takedown into Mcgarry's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kursch Ikenhar wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Ikenhar looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Mcgarry is staying active underneath Ikenhar, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Mcgarry keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Ikenhar is looking to pass Mcgarry's guard but actually Mcgarry recovers to full guard.

Mcgarry is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Ikenhar not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
