Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Francis Pushkar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roderick Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Francis Pushkar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roderick Jenkins!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Emerson Jorge and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pushkar is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jenkins sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jenkins. Pushkar does a little dance to reset his feet.
Pushkar looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Pushkar slips under a jab.
Jenkins misses with a looping left.

Pushkar shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jenkins is trying to defend but Pushkar finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Pushkar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jenkins keeps working.
Jenkins pushes Pushkar off looking to stand but Pushkar dives back in and keeps control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pushkar has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jenkins is working away from the top position though.
Jenkins wants to pass to mount but Pushkar is defending the position.
Pushkar is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jenkins's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jenkins's back!

Pushkar somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
Pushkar really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Pushkar is looking for a rear naked choke here but Jenkins reverses the position brilliantly into Pushkar's guard!

Jenkins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pushkar has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jenkins has managed to get both his arms back between Pushkar's legs - danger averted.

Jenkins must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jenkins can do anything to dispel that myth.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Roderick Jenkins hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Jenkins's corner calls for a 1-2. Jenkins obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Jenkins throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Pushkar's head.


It looks like Francis Pushkar has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jenkins thumps Pushkar with a low kick.

Pushkar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Roderick Jenkins is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Jenkins. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Jenkins is looking to slow Pushkar down with leg kicks.
Pushkar closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jenkins circles away.
Roderick Jenkins seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Jenkins clobbers Pushkar with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Jenkins throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Jenkins digs a good hook to Pushkar's body.
Pushkar takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Good leg kick by Jenkins there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Jenkins.

Pushkar on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Jenkins wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Jenkins scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Pushkar is rocked!
Pushkar takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Pushkar is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Jenkins bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pushkar's head.
Jenkins blocks a low kick nicely.
Jenkins scores with a shot to the body.
Pushkar on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Jenkins. Jenkins obviously looking to wear him down.

Jenkins ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Jenkins lands a left and a right that send Pushkar crashing to the mat, dazed. Jenkins thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Oh Pushkar is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

A telegraphed right hand from Jenkins misses the target.
Jenkins pushes Pushkar away with a front kick.
Pushkar seems to have got his legs back now.
A combination from Jenkins does no damage.
Pushkar throws an overhand right that lands on Jenkins's shoulder, as Jenkins tries to avoid the shot.
Francis Pushkar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jenkins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The fighters circle momentarily. Pushkar darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Jenkins throws an overhand right that lands on Pushkar's shoulder, as Pushkar tries to avoid the shot.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Jenkins drops Pushkar with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Pushkar looks back up at him and smiles so Jenkins waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Pushkar shoots in looking for a takedown but Jenkins manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pushkar's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Francis Pushkar. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pushkar avoids the body shot from Jenkins.
Jenkins lands with a good body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roderick Jenkins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Jenkins sends Pushkar crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Jenkins is motioning to the referee to let Pushkar up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
OH! Pushkar has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Jenkins smells blood and charges in for the finish! Jenkins unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Pushkar sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:10 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Roderick Jenkins!
