Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marc Jay Lakay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Berry Nicolas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lakay comes into the arena with LOSER!! It was you!! blaring out of the sound system. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lakay avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nicolas on the wrong end of a nice hook.

Marc Jay Lakay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lakay is looking to take a break and control but Nicolas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Nicolas parries the strikes from Lakay easily there. Lakay is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Nicolas to escape.

Nicolas is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Lakay lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Lakay is trying to stick to Nicolas's back but Nicolas is turning into Lakay. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Lakay's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Nicolas.
Lakay wants to get back to his feet but Nicolas is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Lakay is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Nicolas makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Lakay closes the distance and clinches up with Nicolas, looking for a takedown. Lakay pushes Nicolas against the cage but Nicolas circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lakay throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nicolas.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Lakay here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Lakay changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nicolas tries to avoid it but Lakay manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nicolas to the ground. Nicolas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lakay is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nicolas defends it well.

Lakay postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Nicolas in real trouble here! The ref calls for Nicolas to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
