PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Crash Bandicoot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Villar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bandicoot comes into the arena with Crash Bandicoot: Jungle Rollers Remix blaring out of the sound system. Villar has chosen Mainit as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Crash Bandicoot has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Crash Bandicoot!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Villar!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bandicoot tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Bandicoot wants to clinch.

Villar gets tackled into the cage by Bandicoot. Bandicoot maintains the clinch.
Bandicoot has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Villar avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Bandicoot missing with knees to the body.

Villar pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bandicoot tries to clinch up but Villar circles away and keeps his distance.
Bandicoot blocks a leg kick.

Villar throws a low kick but Bandicoot avoids it.
Villar thows a body shot but no joy.
Villar wants to land a leg kick but Bandicoot is out of range.

Bandicoot shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Bandicoot is trying to work for a kimura but Villar is defending well.

Bandicoot is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Villar doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bandicoot.

Bandicoot seems to be looking for submissions.

Bandicoot is working for a submission of some sort.

Villar is defending against the submission attempts here by Bandicoot.

Bandicoot looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Bandicoot decides to stand up.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Villar lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Bandicoot has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Bandicoot and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Bandicoot pushes Villar up against the cage in a clinch.

Villar pulls guard successfully.
Bandicoot controlling from the top position.
Bandicoot wants to control from the top but Villar keeps moving.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Villar can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Bandicoot drops back looking for a leg! Villar is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Villar manages to kick Bandicoot off! Bandicoot jumps back into Villar's guard.

Bandicoot is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Crash Bandicoot dominated that round.
That's time! Bandicoot's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Bandicoot tries to close the distance and clinch up but Villar swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Villar gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Bandicoot trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Bandicoot pushing down on Villar's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Bandicoot is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Villar blocking the ground and pound attempt from Bandicoot.

Bandicoot stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Crash Bandicoot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Villar fails to land with a series of punches.

Villar gets tackled into the cage by Bandicoot. Bandicoot maintains the clinch.
Bandicoot misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Villar.

Bandicoot drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bandicoot misses with a knee to the head.
Bandicoot crunches a lovely knee into Villar's ribcage.
Villar is trying to pull guard but Bandicoot turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Villar wants to get back to striking at distance but Bandicoot won't allow it.
Villar blocks a body shot from Bandicoot.
Bandicoot is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Villar gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Villar on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Villar tries to pull guard but Bandicoot holds him up against the cage and eventually Villar drops back down to his feet.
Crash Bandicoot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Villar.
Still in the clinch, Bandicoot scores with a nice short uppercut.

Bandicoot gets control of Villar's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bandicoot will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Villar stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Bandicoot has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Villar manages to get his head free but now Bandicoot has transitioned to an armbar! Villar grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Bandicoot! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Crash Bandicoot!

Crash Bandicoot very nearly forgot to thank [CBK] The Smashwear Corporation amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
