Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Juno Ku!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hank Lunde!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lunde avoids the head kick by Ku.
Ku lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Lunde stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Ku.
Ku lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Lunde loads up on a big right hand but Ku slips the punch.
Ku throws a sloppy head kick and Lunde moves out of range easily.
A head kick misses from Ku.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Lunde has eaten all the pies!
Horrible takedown by Lunde or perhaps it was just good defense by Ku which made him look bad.
Lunde throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lunde swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lunde will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Ku explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Juno Ku seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lunde looks gassed!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ku throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lunde stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Lunde fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Juno Ku has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hank Lunde.
Ku fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A head kick misses from Ku.
Ku thumps Lunde with a low kick.
Ku throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
It looks like Hank Lunde has been cut.
Lunde on the wrong end of a nice jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ku looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Ku moves into the clinch successfully.
A bit of stalling here from Ku.
Ku manages to break the clinch.
Ku throws a head kick but Lunde moves out of range.
A chopping leg kick lands by Ku.
Ku tries to clinch up.
Lunde misses with a lunging right hand
and Ku counters with a slapping leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ku plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Ku lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Ku clinches up with Lunde and pushes him back against the cage.
Ku lands a good knee to the midsection. Lunde won't want to take too many of those.
Ku drops Lunde with a big knee straight up the middle! Lunde is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!
Lunde is rocked!
Ku throws a quick head kick that knocks Lunde silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Ku is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Juno Ku!
