Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hyun Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lu Bu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kim comes to the cage accompanied by To the Top. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bu swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Kim seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bu does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Bu utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Kim throws a big elbow that misses.
Kim wants to control from the top but Bu keeps moving.
Bu looking for a sweep. Not yet Bu, not yet.
Kim looking to sit in guard and control but Bu gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Bu avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Kim is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bu defends well.

Kim working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bu doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bu manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kim seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Kim looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Bu has picked Kim up and slammed him! Kim can't keep hold of the triangle and Bu manages to pass to side control!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kim manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bu's best efforts.
Kim is looking to get back to full guard here but Bu has managed to pass to side control instead.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kim is defended easily by Bu.
Kim shoots in looking for a takedown. Bu tries to sprawl out of it but Kim keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bu manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Bu lands a nice hook to Kim's body. Kim takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Kim takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Kim shoots in for a double leg but Bu sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Kim takes a swing at Bu's ribcage but misses.
Bu rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

Bu feints and then cracks Kim's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kim down.

Kim steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bu.
Bu throws a hook but Kim blocks it.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hyun Kim.
