With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vlad The Third Tepes!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tepes on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Cavalcante Ribeiro. Cavalcante Ribeiro obviously looking to wear him down.
Tepes misses the shot to the body.
Tepes is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cavalcante Ribeiro.
Cavalcante Ribeiro pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cavalcante Ribeiro lands a head kick. Tepes smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Tepes lands with a shot to the body.

Tepes moves into the clinch successfully.
Cavalcante Ribeiro looking to throw knees to the head but Tepes is blocking nicely.
Cavalcante Ribeiro misses with a punch to the body.
Tepes tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Cavalcante Ribeiro avoids it.
Cavalcante Ribeiro lands a nice elbow from the clinch.


It looks like Vlad The Third Tepes has been cut.
Cavalcante Ribeiro is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tepes avoids the elbow strike from Cavalcante Ribeiro, against the cage.
Cavalcante Ribeiro throws a knee to the head but misses.

Cavalcante Ribeiro pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

A right hook to the body lands for Cavalcante Ribeiro.
Tepes using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Cavalcante Ribeiro has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Tepes tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Tepes has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Cavalcante Ribeiro clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Tepes lands shots from the back.

Tepes is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Cavalcante Ribeiro defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tepes wants to control but Cavalcante Ribeiro is keeping busy.
Tepes scores with punches and elbows.
You can see the frustration on Cavalcante Ribeiro's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Tepes is trying to stick to Cavalcante Ribeiro's back but Cavalcante Ribeiro is turning into Tepes. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Tepes's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Cavalcante Ribeiro.
Tepes wants to sweep here but Cavalcante Ribeiro controlling him for the moment.
Tepes pulls Cavalcante Ribeiro in close to his closed guard and prevents Cavalcante Ribeiro from doing any damage or advancing position.

Cavalcante Ribeiro is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Cavalcante Ribeiro trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tepes can do anything to dispel that myth.

Cavalcante Ribeiro postures up.
Tepes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cavalcante Ribeiro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Tepes has control of Cavalcante Ribeiro's left arm, preventing Cavalcante Ribeiro from doing any damage.
Tepes looking for a sweep. Not yet Tepes, not yet.
Cavalcante Ribeiro trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Cavalcante Ribeiro sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Tepes's guard.

Cavalcante Ribeiro is working for a submission of some sort.
Tepes makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Tepes.

Cavalcante Ribeiro has gone for a leg lock! Tepes slips out almost immediately though and dives into Cavalcante Ribeiro's guard.

Tepes cracks Cavalcante Ribeiro with a solid left hand.

Cavalcante Ribeiro looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tepes content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Cavalcante Ribeiro has locked up a guillotine! Cavalcante Ribeiro's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Tepes is holding on here and Cavalcante Ribeiro must be using up a lot of energy. Tepes has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Cavalcante Ribeiro gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Marcos Cavalcante Ribeiro!
Marcos Cavalcante Ribeiro very nearly forgot to thank Snap Crackle Pop Fight Gear amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
