Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dominick Marcello (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Marcello is fending him off so far but Thomas persists. Nope, Marcello circles away and we're back to standing.

Thomas displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Marcello throws out the jab.

Thomas closes the distance and clinches up with Marcello, looking for a takedown. Thomas pushes Marcello against the ropes but Marcello circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Thomas counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Marcello is on top in guard.
Marcello looking to sit in guard and control but Thomas gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Marcello working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thomas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thomas manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Marcello has his foot on Thomas's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Thomas works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Marcello takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
