Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DeAndre Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up but Evans swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Smith throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Evans was covering up waiting for the punch and Smith finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Smith is looking to work some ground and pound but Evans has wrist control.
Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Evans is retaining full guard.
Smith lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Evans knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.

OK we're going to have a standup here. DeAndre Smith hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Evans shoots in looking for a takedown. Smith tries to sprawl out of it but Evans keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Smith manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Evans stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Evans wants it to stay on the feet.

Evans shoots for a takedown but Smith saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Smith shoots in for a double leg but Evans sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
