The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lesner swivels and escapes.
Lesner checks a low kick from Jackson.
Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch but Lesner swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lesner moves out of range of the body kick.
Jackson misses with a takedown attempt

and Lesner counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lesner.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Lesner missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Lesner drops back looking for a leg! Jackson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jackson manages to kick Lesner off! Lesner jumps back into Jackson's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackson controls Lesner momentarily but Lesner frees himself.
