The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kenji Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Stern with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Silva to score with a decent uppercut.
Stern shoots in looking for a takedown. Silva tries to sprawl out of it but Stern keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Silva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Silva displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Stern throws out the jab.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stern drops his hands momentarily and Silva takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Stern throws a push kick but Silva slaps the foot to one side.

Stern takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Stern sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Silva counters with a low kick, right behind Stern 's knee.
Silva on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Stern. Stern obviously looking to wear him down.

Stern moves out of range as Silva throws a body kick.
Stern shoots for a double leg takedown but Silva sprawls well. He's pushed Stern's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Silva takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stern tries to clinch up but Silva circles away and keeps his distance.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Silva ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stern moves away.
Silva throws a push kick but Stern slaps the foot to one side.
Silva connects with a solid leg kick.
Stern takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

and Stern finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Silva throws a leg kick which misses Stern's front leg but catches the back leg as Stern tries to avoid it.
Nice defenses there by Stern.

Stern fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Silva to the ground. Stern is now in Silva's guard.
Stern seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Silva parries the strikes from Stern easily there. Stern is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Silva to escape.
Stern wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working.

Silva is trying to control Stern's posture but Stern avoids it.
Stern is working Silva over with some ground and pound from side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Stern throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stern moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
