Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Howard King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Zab Eastwood!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eastwood tries for a takedown but King sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Eastwood clinches.

Eastwood manages to break the clinch.

King tries to keep at a distance but Eastwood has taken the fight into the clinch.
Eastwood has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. King avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Eastwood is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Eastwood drags the fight down to the ground.
King wants to get up but he can't break Eastwood's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Eastwood is pulling down on King's head. It's preventing any offense from King, at least for the moment.

King decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Eastwood, up you get!

Eastwood fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with King, pushing him back against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Eastwood just leaning against King, taking a breather.

King tightens his grip and picks Eastwood up, before dumping him to the ground. Eastwood manages to land in guard.
King is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Eastwood is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Eastwood has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics King uses from the top position.
Eastwood has King pulled in close to control his posture.
King's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Eastwood pulls King in close to his closed guard and prevents King from doing any damage or advancing position.
King is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Howard King has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Eastwood throws a nice outside leg kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Eastwood shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as King sprawls well. King wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Eastwood gets slowly back to his feet.
Howard King has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zab Eastwood.

Eastwood gets a clinch.
Eastwood drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

King escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

King dives in and grabs Eastwood's left leg, looking for a takedown. Eastwood pushes down on King's head and hops out.
Howard King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

King tries to sprawl but Eastwood drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Eastwood trying to pass the guard but King defending well.
King is trying to control but can't.
Eastwood lands strikes from half guard.
Eastwood wants to pass the guard but King is defending well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
King is breathing heavily.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

We're going to have a standup here because Howard King wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

King tries to sprawl but Eastwood drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Eastwood stalling.
Eastwood is thwarting King's attempts to control the position.
Eastwood seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Eastwood works his way into side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King being controlled for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zab Eastwood dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Eastwood tightens his grip and picks King up, before dumping him to the ground. King manages to land in guard.

King is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Eastwood has his hands clasped together but King extends an breaks Eastwood's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by King.
