Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kimbo Slide (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonny Do (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slide comes to the cage accompanied by Marilyn Manson - The Beautiful People. Kimbo Slide has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kimbo Slide!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jonny Do!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Shimada and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Do lands with a shot to the body.
Slide with a poor takedown
and Do connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Slide shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Slide was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Do manages to regain half guard whilst avoiding the strikes.

Slide is trying to work for a kimura but Do is defending well.
Slide misses with a head shot. Do uses the momentum to regain guard.
Do is controlling Slide's posture.
Slide loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Do is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Slide wants to get back to his feet.
Slide wants to control but Do is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Do looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Slide is trying to control but can't.
Slide has hold of Do's hands but Do slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Do is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Do landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Slide tries to roll over but Do keeps him under control.

Do sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Slide defending well though.
Slide is looking to control Do's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Slide avoid being mounted?
Slide is pressing down on Do's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Do passes into half guard.
Slide tries to get to full guard but Do has control of the leg.
Do working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Slide's thigh. Slide counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Do landing with the ground and pound.
Slide wants to sweep but no luck.
Do chips away with some ground and pound.
Slide looking for a sweep. Not yet Slide, not yet.

Do distracts Slide with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Slide trying to keep a closed guard but Do is proving a slippery customer.
Slide has momentary wrist control but Do slips an elbow through the middle.
Slide will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Do with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Slide is on top in guard.
Do utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Slide wants to stand but Do has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Slide postures up in Do's guard and throws a big left but Do blocks it.
Slide loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Do manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Do punishing his opponent with strikes.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Do dominating with strikes here.
Slide has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Slide regains half guard.
Slide makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Slide.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jonny Do dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Do displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Slide.
Do lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Do misses with an uppercut.
Do throws a leg kick
and Slide counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Slide doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Do counters by moving into the clinch.

Slide turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Slide sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Do is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Do tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Slide trying to control the position but Do is working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Slide landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.

Slide is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Do has escaped the position, nice work there.

Slide is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Do knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Slide just content to control the position.
Slide is looking to take a break and control but Do is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Do wants to control but Slide postures up.
Do sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Slide is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Do sees it coming and defends easily.
Jonny Do has got the better of the ground game so far.
Do keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Do is looking to improve his position.

Slide working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Do holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Do actively working from the bottom here.
Slide trying to control the action but Do is working from the bottom.
Slide prevents Do from standing back up.
Slide is looking to stall here but Do recovers full guard.

Slide has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Do is proving hard to escape from.
Do preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Slide looking to sit in guard and control but Do gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Do postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Do scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kimbo Slide dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Do shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Slide throws a leg kick that misses.

and Do moves into the clinch.
Do misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Slide.
Slide jumps guard but Do stands there with Slide around his waist. Slide gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Do is pushing Slide up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Do works on Slide's body with a couple of short punches.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Do. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Do presses Slide against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Do lands a nice shot to the body.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Do utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Do lands a left hand that snaps the head of Slide backwards.

Do lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
A right hook to the body lands for Do.
Do lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Do presses Slide against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

and Do cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kimbo Slide. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kimbo Slide seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Do lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Do connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Do displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Slide throws a big shot that misses.
Do throws a leg kick which misses Slide's front leg but catches the back leg as Slide tries to avoid it.
Slide misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Do lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Slide takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Do has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Slide gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Do counters with a stiff right hand.
Slide stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Do.
Do scoring well with a low kick there.

Do closes the distance and clinches.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Jonny Do comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Do has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Jonny Do spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
