Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Merik Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gianfranco Pagliera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hunt might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Comfortably Numb. Pagliera is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Rammstein - Mein Herz Brennt . Merik Hunt has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Gianfranco Pagliera!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Sam Margolis and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hunt throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hunt throws a lazy head kick
and Pagliera counters with a shoot takedown. Hunt fights it but they end up in guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Pagliera stopping the sweep attempt from Hunt.
Hunt looking for subs off his back but Pagliera has passed one foot through into half guard.
Hunt is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pagliera's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pagliera's back!

Hunt is not going to allow Pagliera to sit and survive in this position.

Pagliera is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Hunt off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

It looks like Gianfranco Pagliera has been cut.
Hunt has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Pagliera has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hunt is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Pagliera has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

Pagliera rolls, trying to escape but Hunt keeps control of the position.
Pagliera rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Hunt passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Pagliera!

Hunt prevents Pagliera from getting the reversal.
Hunt pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Hunt is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Hunt is trying to control the action in half guard but Pagliera is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hunt thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Hunt is working for a submission of some sort.
Hunt throwing shots but Pagliera is blocking nicely.
Hunt stops Pagliera from getting back to his feet.
Hunt working over Pagliera with some ground and pound. Pagliera looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Pagliera is still in real trouble! Can Hunt finish him?
That has opened up Gianfranco Pagliera's cut even more.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Gianfranco Pagliera's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Pagliera is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hunt scores with a couple of nice shots.
Hunt lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Pagliera! More strikes land and this one is all over! Hunt jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
