Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sher Wood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Davi Melo!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wood throws the kick towards the body but Melo avoids it.
Melo thows a left - swing and a miss!
Sher Wood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Melo with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Wood tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Wood throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Melo comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Melo lands a really nice looking cross but Wood seems unphased.
Melo connects with the punch.
Melo uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Wood.
Melo jabs Wood right on the nose. Wood blinks but takes it well.
Melo takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Wood misses with a few strikes there.
Melo lands a jab to the head.
Wood moves away from the strike by Melo.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Wood closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Melo quickly recovers to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Melo is staying active underneath Wood, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Wood is working for a submission of some sort.
Wood trying to control the action but Melo is working from the bottom.

Wood is working for a kimura but Melo is defending it quite comfortably.

Wood is trying to work for a kimura but Melo is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Melo is trying to stand up here but Wood is controlling him well.

Wood seems to be working for a kimura but Melo defends the submission attempt.
Wood is looking to take a break and control but Melo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Melo wants to get back to full guard but Wood has mounted him!
Melo is squirming around, avoiding Wood's attempts to control the action.

Wood is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Wood!

A less than humble Sher Wood misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
