PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Korke Kinka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jt Spirit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spirit has chosen Nujabes - Feather as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Korke Kinka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jt Spirit!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Dmitry Maklakov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spirit bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Spirit lands a two punch combo.

Spirit forces Kinka back against the cage and clinches.
Kinka has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Spirit is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Spirit scores with a knee to the head.

Spirit has clasped his hands together around Kinka's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Kinka is trying to control Spirit's posture but Spirit avoids it.
Spirit fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Kinka is trying to get back to half guard.
Spirit is working Kinka over with some ground and pound from side control.

Kinka has one of Spirit's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Spirit clinches.
A short body shot lands from Spirit as the two fighters clinch.
Spirit misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Spirit lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.

Spirit works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Spirit pulls guard.
Kinka controls from within his opponent's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Korke Kinka has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
A solid body kick from Spirit.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jt Spirit dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Spirit fails with the takedown.
Spirit throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kinka stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Nice sprawl there from Kinka as Spirit shoots in.
Kinka takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Spirit jumps guard and drags Kinka to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Spirit can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kinka controls the pace.

Spirit tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Kinka not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Korke Kinka.

Kinka takes the fight into the clinch.
Spirit misses with a body punch.
Spirit stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Kinka rushes Spirit and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Kinka won't allow Spirit to sweep him here.

Kinka is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Korke Kinka just wasn't active enough.
Spirit scores with a decent looking hook.
Spirit tries a head kick but it misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Spirit lands with a hook. Kinka tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Jt Spirit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kinka moves into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jt Spirit showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Kinka gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Spirit gets underhooks to prevent Kinka's takedown attempt.
Kinka has Spirit pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Spirit manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Kinka is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Spirit pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Korke Kinka. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Spirit is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Kinka can't fight it off and eventually Spirit manages to take the fight to the floor. Kinka looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Spirit wants to get up but he can't break Kinka's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Spirit postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Kinka is adopting a defensive guard.

Spirit shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Kinka counters by clinching up.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Spirit.

Kinka is stalling in the full guard.
Korke Kinka has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

We're going to have a standup here because Korke Kinka wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Kinka drives through and clinches with Spirit against the cage.

Spirit digs a right hand underneath Kinka's ribcage. Kinka let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Kinka takes an elbow to the forehead.
Spirit swings wildly with an uppercut but Kinka uses good head movement to avoid it.

Spirit jumps into guard, dragging Kinka to the mat.
Kinka wants to control from the top but Spirit keeps moving.
Kinka is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Jt Spirit is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Korke Kinka.

Kinka moves into range and clinches up with Spirit.

Spirit ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Spirit no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Kinka is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

I would just about give that final round to Jt Spirit.
Well Spirit has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
