Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Durant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Poe Winnie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Billy Durant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Poe Winnie!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Durant gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Durant tries to pull guard but Winnie won't allow it.
Winnie just leaning against Durant, taking a breather.

Durant tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Winnie avoids it.
Durant using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Winnie has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Winnie has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Durant regains guard immediately.

Winnie is working an open guard so Durant takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Durant drops down looking for an ankle pick but Winnie pulls his leg out and moves away.

Durant closes the distance and pushes Winnie back into the ropes.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Durant has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Winnie will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Durant up against the ropes.
Durant goes for a takedown in the clinch but Winnie prevents it.
Winnie struggles to land a body shot inside as Durant controls his hands.

Durant trying to stall but Winnie improves his position.

Durant is trying to push Winnie away but Winnie has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.

Winnie has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Durant regains guard immediately.
Durant is trying to control the position but Winnie postures up.
Winnie throws a big elbow that misses.
Durant knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Winnie on the ground.

Durant is trying to control the position but Winnie postures up.
Durant will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Winnie throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Durant works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Winnie postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Durant on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Durant tries to get out of the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Durant is really struggling to control Winnie but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Durant is trying to push Winnie away but Winnie has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.

Durant is staying active underneath Winnie, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Winnie is looking for a kimura but Durant is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Winnie to get the leverage.

Durant keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Durant has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Winnie is working away from the top position though.
Winnie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Winnie lands a nice short elbow.

Winnie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Durant with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Winnie looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Durant clinches up with Winnie and pushes him back against the ropes.
Durant is trying to drag Winnie to the mat but Winnie just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Winnie.
Winnie continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
Durant tries for a takedown. No joy.
Durant tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Winnie smiles and moves away.

Durant jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Winnie walks away with a smile on his face. Durant gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

The fighters are pressed against the ropes, as the pace of the fight slows.
Durant misses with a punch to the body.
Winnie can't find room to land a body shot as Durant controls the action.

Durant is trying to pull guard but Winnie turns him against the ropes and we stay in the clinch.

Durant swings wildly with an uppercut but Winnie uses good head movement to avoid it.

Winnie is nestled in close to Durant, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Durant is staying active underneath Winnie, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Durant has hold of Winnie's hands but Winnie slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Billy Durant has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
