Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Duarte Madeiros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Hathaway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Duarte Madeiros!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Hathaway!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hathaway fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hathaway displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Hathaway ducks under a wild hook from Madeiros.
Madeiros shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Hathaway gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Madeiros.
Hathaway misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Madeiros rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hathaway moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hathaway takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Hathaway gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Madeiros stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hathaway swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Madeiros throws an elbow that misses. Hathaway uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Madeiros's guard. Nice move by Hathaway!

Hathaway is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Hathaway looking to sit in guard and control but Madeiros gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Madeiros is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Madeiros thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Madeiros has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Madeiros accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hathaway is controlling Madeiros's posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hathaway throws a looping overhand right but Madeiros ducks down to avoid it.

Hathaway defending well as Madeiros loads up on a big left hand.
Madeiros closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hathaway circles away.
Hathaway pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Madeiros manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hathaway on his heels. He'll look to pass Hathaway's guard now, I'm sure.
Madeiros stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hathaway swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hathaway wants to sweep here but Madeiros controlling him for the moment.
Hathaway really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Madeiros. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Madeiros won't allow Hathaway to get back to his feet.
Madeiros throws a big right hand that misses.
Madeiros throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hathaway works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Madeiros drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hathaway looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hathaway looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hathaway!
Madeiros wants to get back to his feet but Hathaway drags him back down.

Madeiros manages to get back to half guard.
Hathaway wants to pass to mount but Madeiros is defending the position.
Hathaway is looking to take a break and control but Madeiros is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Madeiros won't allow Hathaway to pass to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Duarte Madeiros dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hathaway misses with a double jab
and Hathaway takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hathaway bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Hathaway shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Madeiros eats them both and turns towards Hathaway to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Sloppy strikes from Hathaway. Those never looked like landing.
Madeiros misses the shot to the body.
A punch combination from Hathaway misses.
Madeiros getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Madeiros bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hathaway managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Madeiros.

Madeiros tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Madeiros has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Madeiros is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Hathaway is trying to escape and Madeiros transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Hathaway is forced to tap! Nice work there by Madeiros! Very nice indeed!
