Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Stroker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drake has chosen Kiss - God of Thunder as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chad Drake!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The crowd cheers as Stroker lands an impressive looking overhand right. Drake doesn't seem phased though.
Stroker throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Drake stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Stroker lands a slapping body shot.
Stroker scores with a nice body kick.
Stroker lands a nice hook to Drake's body. Drake takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Stroker buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Stroker looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Drake shoots for a double leg takedown but Stroker sprawls well. He's pushed Drake's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Stroker closes the distance and clinches.

Drake takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Drake is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Stroker is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Stroker has escaped and now he's on top!
Drake lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Stroker!
Stroker is bucking up trying to escape but Drake cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Drake goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Stroker turns into him and now he's in Drake's guard.
Stroker has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Drake is proving hard to escape from.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nice takedown defense from Stroker. No joy for Drake on that attempt.

Stroker is looking to clinch but Drake is avoiding it.
Drake throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stroker's waist but Stroker gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Drake off to one side.
Stroker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Drake paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Stroker lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Stroker counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Stroker misses with a two punch combination.
Stroker throws a nice inside leg kick.
Chad Drake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Drake shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Stroker tries to lock up and control but Drake gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Stroker is squirming around, avoiding Drake's attempts to control the action.

Stroker wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Stroker is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Stroker avoids a series of strikes thrown by Drake.
Drake avoids the attempt from Stroker to control.
Drake throwing strikes but Stroker uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Stroker wants to control but Drake is keeping busy.

Drake sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Stroker defending well though.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Stroker tries to clinch up
and Stroker takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Stroker throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Drake stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
A left and a right from Stroker both land. Nice combination.

A decent looking body kick lands there for Stroker.
Drake falls off balance throwing a combination
and Stroker counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Stroker counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Drake avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Drake must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Drake wants to control from the top but Stroker keeps moving.

and Stroker counters with a big head kick but Drake shrugs it off.
Drake throws the kick towards the body but Stroker avoids it.
Stroker is looking to wear down Drake with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Drake shoots in and drives through. Stroker sprawls well.
Stroker throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Drake's head.

Stroker rushes Drake and presses him up against the cage.
Stroker throws a knee to the head but misses.
Stroker landing knees to the head.

Stroker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Drake shoots in but no luck this time.

Drake wants to control the pace but Stroker is squirming around nicely.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Drake is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Drake wants to control but Stroker is having none of it.
Drake swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

That was a close round but Bob Stroker did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
That's time! Stroker's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Drake chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Stroker can pounce on him.
Stroker feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Drake's calf.
Drake works over Stroker's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Bob Stroker has been cut.
Stroker lands with a kick to the temple. Drake shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Drake throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Stroker's waist but Stroker gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Drake off to one side.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Drake crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Stroker - the referee stops the clock and Drake gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Stroker. Drake manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Stroker explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Stroker lands a really nice looking cross but Drake seems unphased.

Drake has Stroker pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Stroker manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Drake wants to pass the guard but Stroker is keeping the position.

Stroker has his feet on Drake's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Stroker throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Drake looks to land a combination but Stroker avoids it well.
Stroker fails in his attempt to clinch.
Drake's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Drake shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stroker but Stroker pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Stroker gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stroker fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Drake.
Drake fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Stroker scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close fourth round but I would say that Bob Stroker will probably get the nod.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Drake can do anything to dispel that myth.

Stroker takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bob Stroker.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stroker, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
