Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Puppy Love (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Ivey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Love comes to the cage accompanied by Otherside by Mackemore X Ryan Lewis. Ivey has chosen Friday as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Puppy Love!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Phil Ivey!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Love throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ivey swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ivey scores with a crisp jab that stopped Love in his tracks.
A shot to the body from Ivey misses
and Love counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Ivey's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Love connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ivey scrambles back to his feet.
Love swings for the body but Ivey moves out of range.
Phil Ivey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Love takes a swing at Ivey's ribcage but misses.
Ivey cracks Love with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Love gets a takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Ivey is refusing to be controlled, as Love sits in half guard.
Love content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Love thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ivey's head.
Love trying to control from half guard but Ivey is working away.
Ivey is trying to get back to full guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Puppy Love wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Ivey takes the fight into the clinch.
Love wants to break free but Ivey has control.
Love stalling against the cage.
Ivey is working Love over against the cage.
Love stalls.
Love on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Ivey misses with a hook to the ribs.
Love goes for a takedown attempt but Ivey pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Love lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Ivey bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ivey looks to land a left hand but Love moved out of range nicely.
Love avoids the head kick by Ivey.
Love dips to his left and cracks Ivey with an uppercut!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ivey connects with a right hand. Love shakes it off.
Love scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Love shoots in looking for a takedown but Ivey manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Love's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Love digs a good hook to Ivey's body.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Ivey.
Ivey tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Love throws a looping overhand right but Ivey ducks down to avoid it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Love ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ivey moves away.
Ivey cracks the inside of Love's front leg.
Love fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Ivey, right into the meat.
A lazy left from Ivey finds it's target.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ivey. Love does a little dance to reset his feet.
Love connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Love throws a series of strikes that have Ivey backpedaling.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Ivey.
Love on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Love blocks a leg kick.
Ivey looks for the body kick but Love saw that one coming.
Ivey just misses with a punch to the body.
Ivey thows a left - swing and a miss!
Ivey fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Love.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Love takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Love jabs Ivey to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Ivey attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Ivey wants to slow Love down by chopping away at his legs.
Love throws a body punch but Ivey moves out of range.
Ivey takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Love takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Ivey uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Love.
Love misses with a body shot.
Ivey lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Ivey closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Ivey fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Love has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ivey displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Love throws out the jab.

Ivey takes the fight into the clinch.
Ivey doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Phil Ivey will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ivey throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Love fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ivey looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Love throws out a powerful jab.
Love blocks a head kick by Ivey.
Love connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Ivey's hands.
Love has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Ivey.
Ivey waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Love.
Love jabs at Ivey's body.
Phil Ivey seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Ivey lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Love takes one to the chin there.
Ivey uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Love.
Love moves out of range of the body kick.
Nice shot lands for Love.

Ivey drops Love with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Love looks back up at him and smiles so Ivey waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Love is rocked!
Love shoots in but Ivey avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Oh Love is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Love misses with a lunging right hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Ivey! This one is all over!
