The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burns shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burns trying to move into half guard but instead Guard Dog has managed to sweep!

Burns drives through with a takedown into guard.

Burns wants to get up but he can't break Guard Dog's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Burns is really struggling to control Guard Dog but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Cole Burns has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Burns takes the fight into the clinch.

Burns is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Guard Dog can't fight it off and eventually Burns manages to take the fight to the floor. Guard Dog looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Burns tries a head kick but it misses.
Jab, jab by Burns - just one landing.

Burns lands a big head kick that sends Guard Dog tumbling to the mat! Burns takes a step backwards and waves Guard Dog back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Guard Dog is rocked!

It looks like The Guard Dog has been cut.
The Guard Dog is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Burns lands a huge takedown. Guard Dog is out but the ref is slow to react and Burns lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Guard Dog lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
