The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Creed throws a jab but it's blocked by Black.
Black lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Creed circles away quickly and effectively.
Creed fails with a takedown attempt.
Black ducks under a wild hook from Creed.
Black moves in looking to clinch but Creed pushes him off.
Black misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Black tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Creed is able to avoid easily.
Creed cracks Black with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Black goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Black is looking to clinch.

The fight stays on the outside here - Black looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Creed throws a nice looking combination but Black bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Creed misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Black tries to bum rush Creed with a series of wild strikes but Creed uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Black throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Black works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Black throws a right and a left that both miss.
John Black is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Black just misses with a punch to the body.

Creed connects with a jab.
Creed ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Black throws a low kick but it's checked well by Creed.
Black throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Creed keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Creed rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Black moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Creed takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Creed connects with a nice looking jab.
Black defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Creed.
John Black has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Creed.
Black misses with a jab, cross combination.
A swing and a miss from Creed.

Black gets caught napping as Creed dives in and scores a takedown. Black manages to retain guard.
Black is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Creed connects with a couple of short punches.
Creed postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Creed won't allow Black to get back to his feet.

Black is breathing heavily.
Black wants to improve his position but Creed is controlling well.
Creed slips a nice elbow through Black's hands, connecting with Black's forehead.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Creed breaks from Black's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Creed has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Black's face.

Creed lands a big shot to the head and Black winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
