Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Glen Starner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Orlando Styles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Styles's choice of entrance music: Enter Sandman by Metallica. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Glen Starner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Orlando Styles!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Starner misses the target.
Styles throws a big shot that misses.
Styles slips a straight right by Starner.
Styles connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Styles pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Styles takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Starner throws a big shot that misses.
Styles misses with a looping left.
Styles looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Starner is fending him off so far but Styles persists. Nope, Starner circles away and we're back to standing.
Starner throws a jab but it's blocked by Styles.
Styles walks into a jab.
Styles fails with the takedown.
Starner throws a right hand that Styles ducks under and follows up with a left that Styles also avoids with ease.
Starner looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Styles ducks under a wild hook from Starner.

Styles tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Starner was well out of range. Poor timing from Styles.
Nice uppercut there from Styles.
Starner misses with a hook.
Styles is looking to land body kicks.
Starner doesn't manage to clinch there - Styles circles away.
Styles fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Glen Starner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Orlando Styles.
Starner keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Starner fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Styles, pushing him back against the cage.
Styles takes a shot to the head.
Starner lands with a right to the head.

Styles breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

enabling Styles to counter with a crisp jab.

A slow jab from Starner misses its intended target.
Starner uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Styles has time to react.
Styles walks into a stiff left hand from Starner.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Styles takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Styles misses with a wild body shot.
Starner throws a looping overhand right but Styles ducks down to avoid it.

Styles dives in and scores a takedown into Starner's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Starner keeping moving, preventing Styles from controlling successfully.
Starner keeping full guard, as Styles tries to pass.
Starner seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Styles landing some decent shots from guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Styles throwing strikes from guard but Starner blocks nicely.
Styles trying to control the position from guard on top but Starner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Starner manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Styles manages to get himself to full guard.

Starner got a little sloppy there for a moment and Styles has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Starner has managed to get both his arms back between Styles's legs - danger averted.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Styles has his foot on Starner's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Starner works his way back into a safe position though.
Starner tries to free his leg and advance position but Styles is retaining full guard.
Styles preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Styles throws his legs up looking for a submission but Starner uses it to pass to side control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Starner throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Styles works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Styles wants to sweep but Starner has passed to side control!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Starner cracks Styles with a big right hand but Styles just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Glen Starner will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Starner fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Styles manages to avoid it.
Starner is looking to clinch.
Starner feints a jab promting Styles to slip. Starner then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Styles slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Styles lands a leg kick that knocks Starner off balance momentarily.
Starner misses with a lunging right hand
and Styles counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Styles keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Starner falls off balance throwing a combination
and Starner takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Styles enables Starner to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Styles manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Styles is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Styles is controlling Starner's posture.
Starner might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Styles keeping moving, preventing Starner from controlling successfully.

Styles looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Starner won't allow Styles to sweep him here.
Starner throws a strike but Styles rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Styles stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Starner swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Styles sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Starner's guard.
Starner wants to get back to full guard.

Styles is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Starner is just riding it out for now. Styles eventually gives up the hold.

Styles is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Starner moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Orlando Styles has got the better of the ground game so far.
Styles wants to pass the guard but Starner is keeping the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Starner manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Starner landing strikes, looking to finish!


Styles is rocked!
Starner is landing with some decent strikes but Styles is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Styles is still in real trouble! Can Starner finish him?
Starner is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Styles can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Styles is squirming around, avoiding Starner's attempts to control the action.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Starner loads up with a big shot that hurts Styles! He's pulled Starner in close but Starner has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Styles survive? More strikes from Starner and Styles is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Glen Starner!
Glen Starner decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
