Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jarppi Virne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seamus McDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Virne comes to the cage accompanied by Jeff van Dyck - Soldier's Chant. McDonald has chosen 25 or 6 to 4 as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Virne shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McDonald as he jumps to the side.
Virne closes the distance and clinches up with McDonald, looking for a takedown. Virne pushes McDonald against the cage but McDonald circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Virne dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
McDonald lands a head shot.
Virne is looking to clinch but McDonald is avoiding it.

McDonald gets tackled into the cage by Virne. Virne maintains the clinch.

Virne breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Virne avoids a punch combination nicely.
McDonald cracks Virne with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Virne throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck McDonald on the side of the head.

It looks like Seamus McDonald has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Virne thows a body shot but no joy.

Virne moves into the clinch.
McDonald is looking to break free of the clinch but Virne has double underhooks.

Virne manages to break the clinch.
Virne fails with an attempt to clinch.
Virne tries to clinch but McDonald moves out of range.

McDonald avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Virne moves to clinch but McDonald breaks away
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Virne blocks a head kick by McDonald.

Virne rushes McDonald and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Virne blocks a body shot from McDonald.
McDonald misses with the head strike.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Virne misses with a knee to the head.
McDonald's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Virne has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by McDonald after a bit of a struggle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jarppi Virne. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Virne tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. McDonald just stands there and leans against the cage.
McDonald tries to score a body lock takedown but Virne shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Virne putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has McDonald in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McDonald looking to throw knees to the head but Virne is blocking nicely.
McDonald has a couple of punches blocked by Virne.

Virne breaks from the clinch.

and McDonald moves into the clinch.

Virne using the Thai plumb to throw knees but McDonald has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Virne breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Virne looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Virne doesn't manage to clinch there - McDonald circles away.

McDonald gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
McDonald looking for a sweep. Not yet McDonald, not yet.

Virne postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Virne scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Virne connects with a couple of short punches.
Virne landing some decent shots from guard.
Virne missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
McDonald is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Virne keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of McDonald's head.

McDonald avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Virne wants to control from the top but McDonald keeps moving.

Virne stands and steps away. McDonald gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Virne circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops McDonald to the canvas! McDonald doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Virne keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
