The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cifer Jr looks to land a combination but Tauno avoids it well.
Cifer Jr throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Tauno throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Cifer Jr just misses with a punch to the body.
Cifer Jr walks into a stiff left hand from Tauno.
Cifer Jr tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tauno was well out of range. Poor timing from Cifer Jr.
Tony Tauno seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tauno accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Tauno is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Tauno stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cifer Jr swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tony Tauno wasn't active enough on the ground.

Tauno shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cifer Jr pinned against the cage. Cifer Jr gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Cifer Jr tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tauno sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cifer Jr somewhat.

and Cifer Jr counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Tauno thinking.

Tauno throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cifer Jr stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Cifer Jr comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Cifer Jr slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tauno is staying active underneath Cifer Jr, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
