Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michael Goldman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jason Statham!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goldman takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Michael Goldman has been cut.
Statham throws a head kick but Goldman moves out of range.
Statham keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Statham will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Goldman throws a hook to the side of Statham's head but Statham sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Statham dodges the punch combination from Goldman.
Statham takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Goldman fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Statham, pushing him back against the cage.

Goldman lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Statham backwards.
Statham is looking to break free of the clinch but Goldman has double underhooks.
Goldman throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Stathams head.

Statham tries to circle away but Goldman has him pinned against the cage.
Goldman keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Statham's efforts to push away.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Statham wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Goldman's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Statham pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Goldman lands a slapping body shot.

Goldman makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Statham jumps guard but Goldman stands there with Statham around his waist. Statham gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Goldman pushes Statham back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Statham wants to break free but Goldman has control.
Statham misses with some punches.
A frustrated look appears on Statham's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Statham is fighting off a takedown attempt but Goldman is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Statham to the mat. Statham regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Goldman has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Goldman stands and throws Statham's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Goldman is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Statham's shoulder. That is not cool.

Statham is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Goldman takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Goldman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Statham manages to avoid it.
Goldman swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Statham.
Jason Statham is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Statham throws a low kick but Goldman avoids it.
Statham takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Statham is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Goldman.

Statham with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Goldman to score with a decent uppercut.

That kick from Goldman tenderised Statham's leg. Statham is trying to keep his angry face on.

Goldman gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Statham jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Goldman walks away with a smile on his face. Statham gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Goldman uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Goldman scores with a nice strike.
A combination from Statham does no damage.
Goldman changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Goldman closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Statham takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Goldman lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Statham or not.

Goldman digs a right hand into Statham's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Statham's gas tank.

Goldman gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Statham can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Goldman controls the pace.
Michael Goldman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Statham can't keep his opponent in guard - Goldman advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Goldman looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Goldman passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Statham!

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Michael Goldman just wasn't active enough.
Goldman uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Statham has time to react.
