The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab from Do.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Retso.
A cross from Do lands.
The crowd cheers as Do lands an impressive looking overhand right. Retso doesn't seem phased though.
Do looks to score with a jab to the body but Retso is just out of range.
Retso misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Do.

Do looks to land a combination but Retso avoids it well.

Do is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Retso checks a leg kick nicely.

and Do counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Do stuffs the takedown.
Jonny Do has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Drake Retso.
Retso throws a hook to the side of Do's head but Do sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Do lands a nice looking body kick.

and Do connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Retso with a lazy takedown attempt
and Do cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Retso's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Do connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Retso scrambles back to his feet.
Retso changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Do tries to avoid it but Retso manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Do to the ground. Do escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Drake Retso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Do tries a head kick but it misses.
Do connects with a crisp jab.

It looks like Drake Retso has been cut.
Do is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
No luck for Retso with that takedown attempt.
Do is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Do dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Retso. That did some damage!
Do connects with a jab.
Do misses with a wild body shot.

Do closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Retso wants to get back to full guard.
Nice strikes from Do there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Do thows a huge punch but Retso dodges it nicely.
Do has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Retso on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

That has opened up Drake Retso's cut even more.
Do is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Do connects with a nice short shot to Retso's temple.

The cut above Drake Retso's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Drake Retso's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
