Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Collins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Sutter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fred Collins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Sutter!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sutter tries to close the distance and clinch up but Collins swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sutter moves away from the strike by Collins.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Sutter has closed the distance and engaged Collins in a clinch.

Collins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sutter looks to clinch
and Collins counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


It looks like Mark Sutter has been cut.
Sutter will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Sutter closes the distance and clinches up with Collins, looking for a takedown. Sutter pushes Collins against the cage but Collins circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sutter looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Sutter shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ground and pound from Sutter.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Sutter is looking for a kimura here.
Collins avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Sutter.

Sutter looks to land a strike but Collins avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Sutter throws a big right hand that misses.

Sutter works over Collins with some ground and pound from guard.

Sutter wants to control from the top but Collins keeps moving.
Sutter passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Sutter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Collins keeps working.

Sutter misses with the ground and pound.
Sutter is looking to take a break and control but Collins is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Collins sneaks out the side door and pushes Sutter away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Sutter tries to close the distance and clinch up but Collins swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Collins pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Sutter shoots in looking for a takedown. Collins tries to sprawl out of it but Sutter keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Collins manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fred Collins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Sutter.
Sutter tries to score a power double leg takedown but Collins sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sutter somewhat.
Collins misses with the combination.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Sutter manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Collins on his heels. He'll look to pass Collins's guard now, I'm sure.
Sutter in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Sutter throws a big elbow that misses.
Collins is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Sutter tries to free his leg and advance position but Collins is retaining full guard.
Sutter throws a strike but Collins rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sutter is adopting a defensive guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sutter's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Collins throws the left hand but Sutter avoids the punch easily.
Sutter tries to clinch but Collins moves out of range.
Collins thuds a left hand into Sutter's body.

Collins throws a left that rocks Sutter and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Collins dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Sutter regain composure!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sutter tries to improve position but can't.
I wouldn't like to be where Sutter is right now.
Sutter regains half guard.
Collins throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Collins sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Sutter defending well though.
Mark Sutter has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sutter makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sutter.
Sutter is pulling down on Collins's head. It's preventing any offense from Collins, at least for the moment.
Let's hope that Sutter has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Collins wants to control from the top but Sutter keeps moving.
Collins missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Sutter tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Sutter has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Collins postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mark Sutter was stalling too much, according to the referee.
A combination from Collins does no damage.
Sutter throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sutter scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sutter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Collins tries to avoid it but Sutter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Collins to the ground. Collins escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Fred Collins is winning the standup battle so far.
Collins throws an overhand right that lands on Sutter's shoulder, as Sutter tries to avoid the shot.
Sutter dives in and grabs Collins's left leg, looking for a takedown. Collins pushes down on Sutter's head and hops out.
Collins avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mark Sutter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sutter wants to clinch up but Collins keeps it at a distance.
Sutter misses the shot to the body.
Collins pounces like a tiger and cracks Sutter with a vicious hook! Sutter is down but not out! Collins follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

In his post fight interview, Fred Collins started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
