Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drake scores with a body shot.
Rua throws a right and a left that Drake avoids nicely.
Drake dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Drake moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Rua scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Rua seems to be looking for submissions.
Drake has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rua is working away from the top position though.
Rua wants to pass the guard but Drake is defending well.
Rua landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Rua perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Drake is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Rua lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Drake is in a horrible position here. Rua smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Rua goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Drake is on top in guard.
Drake wants to stand but Rua has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The ref stands the fighters back up. David Drake wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Rua fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rua will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rua.

Cain Rua dominated that round.
That's time! Drake's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Rua takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Rua has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Rua shoots in and drives through. Drake sprawls well.
Drake stuffs the takedown attempt from Rua. Rua gets slowly back to his feet.
Drake works the jab nicely.
Rua walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Drake tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Drake connects with a body shot.

Rua shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Drake manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Rua with a flurry of punches that miss.

Drake is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rua is aware though and is defending well.

Drake looking for a guillotine here but Rua defends easily.

Drake escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rua gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Drake is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Rua is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Rua stands and steps away. Drake gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Cain Rua is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rua avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Drake slips a jab and a cross from Rua.

Drake lands a right hand.
Rua is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Drake gets through Rua's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Drake scores with a shot to the side of Rua's head.
Drake lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Rua is breathing heavily.

Drake drops Rua onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Rua is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Rua is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Drake dips a shoulder and cracks Rua with a mighty uppercut! Rua falls back against the cage and Drake unloads with a barrage of strikes! Rua is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Drake screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
